#Self-service online clients can open an account by uploading valid supporting documents and depositing HK$10,000 into their account for identity verification. Provided that all required documents are complete and the application is submitted by 1:00 PM HKT, the account will be activated on the same day.

Steps
- Download UTRADE HK mobile app from App Store or Google Play
- Click "Sign Up" and "Apply Online/Continue Application" on the homepage
- Fill in personal information and upload the supporting documents
- Sign with e-Signature
- Agree on the terms of account opening with e-signature
- Upload a deposit confirmation of ≥HK$10,000 (Transfer funds via FPS ID)*
- Submit application for review#
- You will receive a welcome email including your account password
- Login to UTRADE HK mobile app and web platform to start your investment journey
Required Documents
- Copy of Identity Document
- Hong Kong Identity Card (For Hong Kong Residents)
- Valid Official Identity Document or Passport (For Overseas Clients)
- Address Proof issued within the last 3 months
- Proof of bank account opened at a Hong Kong licensed bank
- Proof of HK$10,000 deposit to UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong) Limited via "FPS"* (Faster Payment System)
- Financial Status Proof if required by UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong)
*According to SFC's requirement, online application is required to transfer at least HK$10,000 for identity proof purposes.
*Please enter the "Reference Number" in the "Remark" column on the online banking interface. The Reference Number is shown in the "Upload Bank Receipt" section.

- Opening an individual account only
- A non-US resident or citizen
- Not authorized to trade for others
- Not acting as an intermediary for the account
